CO2 Heat Map_edited.png

Nuclear energy is currently featuring heavily in energy policy & security debates due to its unique low carbon and dispatchable / high capacity characteristics. Recent news of recent nuclear plant closures in UK and overseas, reports of new nuclear cost overruns, and the potential for creating large numbers of high quality career prospects in rural communities are also important factors in fuelling the debate on how much nuclear capacity should be built into a modern low carbon electric grid.

This visualisation aims to help understand what the past and present looks like for UK nuclear capacity + operational output, and what the future may look like
