THE OLWG WAY –BE GENUINE AND THOUGHTFUL IN YOUR ACTIONS

Everyone likes to be treated with respect and thoughtfulness.

Even though we may not always agree with each other, we aim to work out our differences and always give each other the benefit of the doubt.

We keep all our verbal and non-verbal communication on a respectful level and treat each other in a manner that we would like to be treated. In fact, we are respectful even when others are not respectful to us.

Read more in our Dignity at Work Policy (POL-004).

AT OLWG WE EMBRACE UNIQUENESS AND DIVERSITY

Olwg is committed to providing equal opportunities in employment and to avoiding unlawful discrimination in employment and against colleagues and clients.  A rich team means that having a wide range of talent from diverse backgrounds, genders and abilities is key to our success. We strive to ensure that the work environment is free of harassment and bullying and that everyone is treated with dignity and respect, ensuring equal opportunities in employment.  Employees should always report any bullying or harassment by team members, clients, suppliers, visitors or others to their manager who will take appropriate action.

We want to build a diverse and inclusive company.  We want everyone to feel safe to contribute in their own unique way, to ask questions, to be curious, and to grow.  We make it a habit to listen without judgement and to focus on the good things people do. We DO give positive praise where and when it is deserved and encourage random acts of kindness.

More details can be read in the Olwg Equality and Diversity Policy (POL-003).

ALWAYS BE THE BEST VERSION OF YOURSELF

Your appearance, behaviour, and personal habits create the image which customers and colleagues will remember most. That doesn’t mean pinstripe suit and brogues (unless that’s your vibe) - be yourself and be comfortable and dress for the day, whether that’s WFH or an important client meeting, we leave it to you. Come to work each day (even at home!) properly groomed, appropriately dressed and ready to make a great first, second and never-ending impression.

As team members, we aim to bring the best of who we are to work each day by "leaving our baggage at the door" and not allowing issues in our personal lives to negatively affect other team members. But that doesn't mean we don't care. If you need to talk to us, there's a listening ear, so reach out before it escalates for any issues you might be having. If you witness a problem and are unsure how to raise it, refer to our Whistleblowing Policy (POL-006).

HOW WE HANDLE CONFLICT AT OLWG

When teams are new and progressing, sometimes there may be differences of opinion or misunderstandings. Those can be times of great growth. If you have a problem, go to the person it involves or raise it with your manager early. We don’t like gossip or talk behind a person’s back. Always try and go to the source of the problem, have a conversation, and find a solution so the team can fix it, grow and move on or we are here to help. If things do escalate we have a grievance and disciplinary procedure (POL-005) but we hope you never have to read it.

CARING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

Olwg has established and will maintain effective systems to understand and monitor our impact on the local and global environment. Our key environmental impacts have been identified as waste, travel and energy usage and they are key areas of focus. We are committed to preventing pollution, not just directly but also by taking into account the environmental impact of resources. We strive to reduce the amount of resources we consume and review travel methods, promoting alternatives to single occupancy car travel by employees and visitors.
